After three weeks of silence, Samsung finally broke the ice by introducing the ST80 camera and the HMX-E10 pocket camcorder. The Samsung ST80 is a point and shoot camera that features a 3-inch touchscreen as well as a3x optical zoom lens for those in the need for closer pictures. It is also packed with a 720p HD video recording that records 30fps.
Most notably, the Samsing ST80 will feature the ability to connect to wi-fi networks. This is important if you want to email your photos or upload them to your Facebook account immediately after capture. It is expected to come out this September and will be priced at $250 or Php11,400.
The other device introduced by Samsung is the HMX-E10 which offers a 270-degree swivel lens to help users take self-portrait videos as well as odd-angle pictures. It has a 2.7-inch touchscreen and captures 1920 x 1080 HD video at the same rate of 30 fps. It can capture 8MP photos and has a USB connector for the purpose of downloading photos and charging it body. The release date is September and is expected to come at $200 or Php9,100.
