The time has come, the first 3D point and shoot cameras will now be seen in your favorite gadget stores! Thanks to Sony for releasing TX9, WX5 and the T99. The first two supports 3D using their sweep panorama modes, you can see 3D images either on your computer or TV.
There’s a new trick in both the Cyber-shot TX9 and WX5, it’s called the sweep multi angle, which utilizes 15 combined images to produce 3D effect even on the camera’s 2D display.
The TX9 and the WX5 also offers back-illuminated CMOS censors that improves image quality when pictures are taken in low light. The new cameras also features a smart auto mode which can take multi shots in order to improve the final image result. It can take two shots for a “natural” flash that will reduce the washed out effect in photos and a semi bokeh effect that defocus on the background. These cams can take 10fps so you will never miss out on the important actions you want to capture.
These two 3D cams will be available in September and will be priced at $300 for the WX5 and $400 for the Tx9.
The other new camera is the Cyber-shot T99 that will have a touch-screen enabled body just like the TX9 but will use 14MP CCD and is capable only of 2D rendering. It is also priced lower at mere $250.
